Ask me about India, and I'll show you my watch

I'm Soham, an IT professional who's called Munich home since 2018, a watch enthusiast, and, underneath everything else I do for a living, a proud Indian. That last part never really goes quiet.

Something happens in almost every client meeting the second someone learns where I'm from. Their whole posture changes. They lean in. They want to know about the languages, the festivals, the sheer, stubborn diversity of a country that refuses to be summed up in one sentence, and every single time, something in me lights up a little. I could talk about India for hours and never once feel like I'm repeating myself, because I'm not. There's always more.

Somewhere in all those conversations, an idea I couldn't shake started forming: what if I didn't have to explain India in words at all? What if I could just show it, the way a watch enthusiast shows off a watch? Joer exists because I refused to let that idea just sit there. Virasat, our first edition, is that idea made real: a dial that actually carries India's diversity in it, its scripts, its landmarks, its whole layered, many-voiced identity, instead of just gesturing at it.

So now, when someone asks me about India, I don't reach for words first. I roll up my sleeve. And the conversation that follows is better than anything I could have said.
